Working with customers
Mary Kay describes several ways to sell: individual consultations, beauty parties, printed materials and online tools. Demonstrations give customers a chance to see and try products. A personal website provides another way to show the range and keep in touch with people interested in buying.

The starter kit
A paid starter kit is required. It contains products for demonstrations, samples and printed materials. These are supplies to use when showing the range; any products you buy for resale are a separate purchase.

Sales and earnings
Earnings come from selling Mary Kay products to customers. There is also a leadership option for consultants who build a team, with separate qualifications.

Customer service
Under Mary Kay’s UK satisfaction guarantee, customers normally contact the consultant who sold the product about a return. The company can help if that consultant is no longer active or cannot be reached, so looking after customers continues after the sale.
